As a church, we strive to care for the community around us.

Serving Community encompasses a lot of different things for Schweitzer including partnering with a neighborhood school, Pittman Elementary,  providing support and encouragement for the East Stanford Community Garden, and various outreach efforts locally. A key partner that helps us reach further into the community is Flourish Community Development Corporation - a non-profit ministry that Schweitzer started in 2021.

The ministries of Flourish include the Food Pantry on and two Coach Houses on Schweitzer's campus. We encourage mentorships and support ongoing classes including Jobs for Life and Faith and Finances.

We actively seek out ways to care for the people around us. Below are a few ways we are currently serving our community. If you have an idea that helps care for our community, contact Sheila Pippin at

Sharing the love of Christ as we provide emergency food assistance and spiritual support.
The Food Pantry and Warehouse is located inside the Student Center on the Schweitzer Campus.

This is a great place to also serve as a church volunteer, helping meet with guests. Food donations area always welcome.

Mentoring for Flourish Programs

Schweitzer has been a long supporter of three programs and ministries that now are part of Flourish. Jobs for Life is an 8-week program that helps people get a job, along with preparing them to be solid, long term employees.

Faith & Finances is a 12-week class, unites people from varied financial backgrounds in exploring together beginning money management skills and Biblical stewardship principles.

The Coach House Ministry provides transitional housing, encouragement and mentoring for women. There are two homes on Schweitzer's property.

Pittman School

Schweitzer helps encourage and support our nearby elementary school (Pittman) in many different ways including, by providing backpacks in the fall, ongoing teacher support and encouragement, a Holiday Toy Store for Pittman families.

There are also several people who serve as "Reading Buddies." Through a special trained program volunteers are provide a adult mentorship and help strengthen kids reading skills.
