Flourish CDC is key to Schweitzer’s outreach to our local community. This non-profit ministry launched out of Schweitzer in 2021 and continues to be an incredible ministry in the Springfield community.
A special thing is happening this year, 2023. The Flourish Food Pantry at Schweitzer is celebrating 20 years! The food pantry at Schweitzer first began serving food from a much smaller space on campus in 2003. On Saturday, September 30 at 5 p.m., Schweitzer and Flourish will join together to celebrate this great history as part of a special event at the Old Glass Place in Springfield. This will be a night to remember featuring a fantastic dinner, inspiring program, and entertainment from comedian Yakov Smirnoff. Tickets are $25 (and are limited.) Purchase your tickets today!

GETTING INVOLVED WITH FLOURISH
Flourish differs from many organizations in that it comes alongside an individual to develop a personal relationship with them. Staff, mentors, and caring volunteers spend time with each person to understand their needs, challenges, and life goals. These people then help those we serve to develop a realistic path to a life of hope, health, and self-sufficiency.
We encourage anyone wanting to get involved in making a difference here in our local community to engage with the various ministries of Flourish, which include:
• The Flourish Food Pantry at Schweitzer Church:
Open on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 9 am to 2 pm. Located inside the Schweitzer Student Center.
• The Coach House Minsitry: A transitional housing ministry for women
• Jobs for Life Program: Providing job training, mentorship, encouragement and more.
• Ongoing Classes including Faith and Finances, Boundaries, The Story of God and more.
Flourish is led by Executive Director Wayne Thompson and program director Camille Price.
