Pastor’s Note – July 9, 2020

In Pastor's Note by Schweitzer Church

Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July celebration. Independence Day is one of my favorite days of the year. When you are a pastor you use other holidays besides Christmas and Easter to build family traditions, and 4th of July weekend has become that for us.

This Sunday will be our fourth in-person worship service. Hats off to our incredible volunteers in our First Impressions Team who have made these services so seamless…and safe. I’ve been so impressed in seeing our volunteers help people check-in quickly and easily, find seats easily, and make the service very hospitable. We weren’t sure what it would be like coming back and this team has made it so much easier.

If you are able, I encourage you to think about coming back and joining us for in-person worship. While online worship is easy and comfortable and a great option for those who are unable to be with us in-person, it’s also not the same as being together. Sunday is my favorite day of the week and coming back together has certainly made it be even better.

This week, our youth group has been together on a local mission trip. They’ve spent the week in our community serving others and while building relationships with each other. I spent Wednesday afternoon with them.

Our kids have also been together in our Vacation Bible School Block Parties. These Block Parties are small groups of 16 kids enjoying a Vacation Bible School experience. If you would like to register a child for a Block Party you can do so here.

God is faithful.

Spencer
