All of us have unique interactions with God, stories of God showing up in our lives. In these 52 Stories, people connected to Schweitzer share how God is present and transforming in their lives. In watching, may you be inspired in Hope, encouraged in Faith, and active in sharing your story of God’s presence in your life.
“Even though I didn’t know it at the time, God was working in my life, and He is working in my life now.”
Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent, a period of reflection and proper sorrow over the reality that sin, my sin, our sin had to be addressed in such a way that God in Christ went to the cross to bring about forgiveness and restoration for all things. We hold a unique worship service on Ash Wednesday, February 26, at 6:00 p.m. The service is shorter in length, about 30–35 minutes, and culminates with the placing of ashes either on the forehead or back of the hand, remembering that we are dust and our hope is in Christ. The service takes place in the sanctuary and kids, youth, and adults are welcome to attend. Childcare is available for babies–age 3. Following the service Kids and Youth meet, as do ongoing classes.
