If sabbath-keeping is part of your life, what is your favorite thing about the Sabbath? If sabbath-keeping is something you’d like to start doing, what is one way you think the Sabbath would help you?

  • Why do you think modern American Christians don’t tend to focus much on this commandment? 
  • What is most challenging to you about this commandment? 

Why keep the Sabbath? “…you used to be slaves…” (Deut 5:15)

  • How do you think the Israelites would have first received the Sabbath after being set free from slavery? 

Romans 6:11-17

  • What are some ways you see people trapped in “slavery” to the world today?
  • Why do you think Christians struggle to live into the freedom Jesus has already accomplished for them?
