John 13:13-17 

  • Foot washing was the job for the lowly servants. What would be some modern examples of this kind of service that would have been shocking to see Jesus perform?
  • This kind of servant-leadership doesn’t come naturally. What are some practical ways we could seek to grow in this? 

John 13:34-35

  • In what practical ways, would our love for one another be a witness of Jesus in the world? 
  • What are some ways you see this witness happening? 

Tim Keller, “When the Bible speaks of love, it measures it primarily not by how much you want to receive but by how much you are willing to give of yourself to someone. How much are you willing to lose for the sake of this person? How much of your freedom are you willing to forsake? How much of your precious time, emotion, and resources are you willing to invest in this person?”
