We are pleased to announce Sheila Pippin will become our Pastor of Congregational Care.
Sheila will fully transition into this role by June 1, when Rev. Jim Mason retires and moves to a quarter-time status on our staff. She has served on our church staff since 2019 as Director of First Impressions. Previous to this role, she served in other churches and has more than 40 years of church ministry experience. Sheila is a person of deep faith in Christ who has demonstrated her gifts of connecting others to a deeper faith in Christ. We are excited to see her gifts utilized to help care for our congregation.

The Pastor of Congregational Care will oversee our Caring Ministries, including visitations, funerals, weddings, and the many care teams our church utilizes.
As an independent congregation, The Schweitzer Church Board of Directors is able to license and ordain people called by God to serve as ministers of the gospel. By the authority of the Board of Directors, Sheila will be licensed for ministry while she prepares for ordination. We expect her to be fully ordained by the end of the year. In this new role, she will be entrusted with pastoral authority and will serve on our pastoral team alongside our Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor.
As Sheila transitions into this new role, we will be replacing the Director of First Impressions with a Director of Connections. This person will lead our First Impressions ministries, and also help us connect people in small group opportunities to form relationships and connections in our church family.
We are currently seeking a person for this new role. View the job description here.
Please be praying for Sheila and our church as she begins this new role as a pastor of Schweitzer Church.
